We have a public community website using ASP.NET with spellcheck currently running version 3.2.7.
Our administrator has reported infrequent and intermittent problems where the spellcheck has identified a misspelled word and provided alternative suggestions but the original word is blank. She did manage to provide one documented instance where
Not in Dictionary was blank
Suggestions list was Muckrake Muckraked Muckraker Muckrakes Macrocosm ....
Just below the Spellcheck window you can see the offending word was a surname - McCracken.
I have spent this afternoon trying to reproduce the problem unsuccessfully. Before I spent more time on it I thought it worth seeing if this behaviour had been seen by anyone else and if so whether there is a known solution.
I must own up this was allocated a low priority and has not been looked at for over 6 months at which time we were running radspell 3.2.4 so it is conceivable that whatever the root cause was the upgrade resolved it.

Hi Neil,
You are the first to report such a problem and unfortunately I am not aware of it. In order to help you we will need detailed steps-by-step instructions along with screenshots showing how to reproduce the problem.
By default the spellchecker uses the Phonetic spellcheck provider, but my suggestion is to change it to EditDistance provider and see whether the problem still persists. You can see the following help article for more information: Improper Spelling Suggestions.

As we are unable to reproduce the problem and you have had no reports of similar behaviour our administrator has accepted that this problem does not need to be progressed any furher.
