List Item Editor Not Showing Up

I have added the solution to my site, deployed the feature and activated the collection feature.  However, the list item editor is not showing up even after an iisreset.  The webpart and the content management changes work fine.  Furthermore, the ascx control is in the controltemplates directory.  Am I missing something?

Hi Allen ,

Our editor is actually an alternative to the default one and this explains it. We would suggest trying with other browsers like Firefox etc.

Ok...so the editor will only show up in a non-IE browser?  That seems odd.  I would like the user-experience to be the same in any browser.  How can I make this editor the default regardless of the browser?

Hello Allen,

The list editing in IE is disabled on purpose - our initial agreement with Microsoft was to provide a cross-browser alternative of the default editor, not to replace it entirely. The editor feature will be updated in the next MOSS editor release to allow IE support. The updated version should be released very soon.
