Concerned,

By any chance, has anyone tried to upload a folder using upload control?

I'm sure that it would work with multiple selected files. But will this work when I select a folder?

I just came across of this link, that states this kind of feature is already in your TODO list of 2009, as we are currently in 2012, can i hope that it is already implemented?

Thanks for reading.

Hi DSK,

Unfortunately RadUpload (and RadAsyncUpload as well) does not support such a selection. While this was technically only possible with a Flash mode (no Silverlight/HTML5 provide such a capability), there were too many troubles with the Flash implementation, which is no more supported. A folder selection can right now be done via an ActiveX control.

In addition to that the clients file structure directory path is a security risk. POST submits, XHR, Flash, Java applications or any other web-based method that has the ability to do this is an exploit. This is to clarify why such feature is not exposed by any of the major browsers and is not supported by default by Silverlight/Flash.

Unfortunately we don’t provide neither Java Applet nor ActiveX control that does this.

All the best,
