Hi
I am trying to Integrate RadEditor (Trial Version) in Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0.
Followed the steps that is specified in the MOSS Whitepaper that demonstrate for RadMenu, I added the RadEditor.dll to the GAC and made it as a Safecontrol in web.config file and tried to see it as a webpart by going to Sitesettings--> Webparts-> New, but it is not available as a webpart. And also tried directly through Sharepoint designer by adding Register tags, it pops up a message 'Control cannot be found'

Can any one please tell me the exact steps for Integrating RadEditor with WSS3.0 or can guide me wat was that i am doing wrong

Also tell me if it Possible to integrate or not, so i can go for other party controls.

Thanks in Advance..
Srinivas

Hi Srinivas,

You should't integrate the standard RadEditor for ASP.NET in WSS 3.0, because we have a special version of RadEditor for MOSS 2007. You can downloaded it from the My Licenses -> My Free Trials -> expand RadControls for ASP.NET -> RadEditor 7.2 -> Downloads -> RadEditor_MOSS_4_4_0_trial.zip.

You can find more information in the following article: http://www.telerik.com/products/sharepoint/radeditor.aspx
and review the RadEditor for MOSS 2007 help:  http://www.telerik.com/help/radeditormoss/

Hi Srinivas,

Yes, RadEditor for MOSS 2007 works with WSS as well. You can see the following article for more information: Installing RadEditor in a WSS v3 environment.

Hi Srinivas,

What do you mean by using RadEditor for MOSS as default editor for the WSS site?

You can use the RadEditor Web Part as well as use RadEditor in List Items. The following two articles provide guidance how to:
Using the RadEditor WebPart,
Using RadEditor in List Items.

Please, note that RadEditor cannot be used as a Content field in Web Content Management scenarios in WSS v3.
