I was having some issues with a few screens not being able to find the script manager so I tried a repair using the MSI for 2009 Q2.
Well it hs ben running for over an hour with EXTRACTING SCRIPTS and SKINS with my dual core cpus ruinning at 50%.
How long should I expect this to run - I suspect that over an hour is too long.

I did a complete uninstall and reinstall and the install completed in short order.

The Extracting Scripts and Skins message is displayed right after the Visual Studio gets reset by the installer (in order to install the Visual Studio Project templates). Sometimes, depending on the machine the reset takes too long, which makes the Extracting Scripts and Skins message appear during that process execution, hence the confusion.
Can you verify that the bin and bin35 folders are extracted successfully in the [RadControls Install Folder]? You should have gotten the Telerik.Web.UI.dll file along with the Telerik.Web.Design.dll and Telerik.Web.UI.xml in these folders if that got correctly.

I'm taking a stab here, but is there a way for you to uncheck which templates are being installed? Maybe that is the problem.

Hi Heath,
Yes, it is possible to exclude any Visual Studio Extensions when you choose a Custom installation type. The actual RadControls Project Templates are simply zip files that get extracted to the Visual Studio folder. The Visual Studio reset (performed by the installer) manages the actual registration of these templates to the IDE.
