Hi Michael,
You can try to convert the datetime values to numbers and then with templates format them back to datetime. See such an example here - http://docs.telerik.com/devtools/aspnet-ajax/controls/htmlchart/how-to/programmatic-creation-of-seriesitems-with-datetime
