I have a horizontal radmenu that is placed in a contentplaceholder from a master page.  I have images as the menu items.  The items appear correctly in IE 7 & 8 but shift below in IE 6.  There are additional spaces in the menu after each item.  I downloaded 2009 Q2 sp 1 and still have the same issue.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I've been fighting this issue for a week now and this is my last resort.

Hello Jason,

In IE6 if you don't have text in a block, sometimes you will need to set the font-size and/or line-height to 0 in order to kill some excessive block margins. Try setting these to the image container and see if that fixes it. If that's not the problem, can you send us a sample project or a live URL so that we can reproduce the issue you're having and help you fix it? Open a support ticket if you wish to attach a file or to keep your URL private.

I have a horizontal RAD menu it was working fine in IE 7 but in IE 6 it has some padded spaces after the menu which is breaking the master page. Can you please explan in detail what does font-size and/or line-height to 0?

Thanks,

Ateeq

Hi Ateeq,

In IE6 sometimes empty block elements are rendered as if there is text in them, resizing them according to the full font-size of the phantom text. However this may not apply to your use case. Can you show a live URL or a sample project (open a support ticket to attach files) and I will help you fix it.
