Hello,

I was using RadEditor Lite on my MOSS2007 application and had no trouble.
Since I've upgraded it to the Full featured version it appears that on some computer RadEditor doesn't work. The problem occurs on Linux computers using FireFox 1.7.10 or FireFox 2.0.0.11. The problem is that RadEditor isn't enabled on the websites with this computers whereas it perfectly works on other stations, with the same versions of Linux and Firefox....

Is there any known problem about RadEditor under linux/firefox ? (what is very strange is that it works with some computers and not with others whereas versions are the same !)
Is there any difference betwenn full and lite version that could explain this change ?

Thanks,

Hi,

You need to reactivate (deactivate, then activate again) the RadEditor features on at least one site after you upgrade to a newer version. After that you need to recycle the SharePoint web application for the changes to be applied.

When you uninstall the RadEditor for MOSS, it removes a special template file from the server - \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\CONTROLTEMPLATES\RadEditorList.ascx
In order to install this file again, you need to activate the editor features on any SharePoint site. Only one activation is required, since the same template file is used on all sites.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
The file RadEditorList.ascx is installed on my system.

RadEditor seems to be correctly installed as it works for some users. It only doesn't work for some other, on the same website, same browser, same rights which is why we can't find the origin of the issue and I was hoping you might have an exaplanation.

Thanks,

Hello,

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately I cannot think of any other configuration settings that will produce such a behavior.

From what I understand, the editor works in Firefox on some PC/Mac/Linux stations, but it does not work in some Firefox browsers on a Linux system. If possible, compare the browser configurations and see if there is something different between the ones that work and the ones that don't - for example, if the browser's user agent string has been altered.

Kind regards,
