Hello Telerik,

I am using ASP.Net Ajax Ribbon Bar control.

I am facing problem of flickering ribbon bar while refreshing.

My page completely loads in approximately 1 sec. Until the page is fully loaded, the Ribbon bar is partially created as attached image (on_page_loading.png).

And once the page is loaded, ribbon bar is completely created as attached image(after_page_load.png)

This happens at the time of page refresh as well as page postback.

I want ribbon bar to be created at once or at least appear only after it is completely created.

Please advise.

Hello Mark,

The ribbon is created at once, but the behaviour you are seeing is inconsistent with that. In fact it's quite buggy behaviour.

You have opened a bug report as well. Could you open attach in it the page you tested on, together with the images used in the ribbon bar and any other resources you think are relevant to this particular case. We'll debug it locally and see why this is happening and ultimately provide you with a solution to this problem.

Kind regards,

Was this issue solved? We are experiencing the same behavior. When the page loads, the buttons are placed under each other, at then when the page finish loading, the buttons jumps up in their right position :S

Hello, Lars.

Which version of the RadControls are you using, and which browsers / operating systems? I am asking because we have made improvements in this respect and you shouldn't be experiencing such issues.

The improvements were released about a year ago as a part of a major RadRibbonBar overhauling. If you are using older version, then you should upgrade.

If you are using a newer version, say 2012 Q2, and you are still having the same issue, then you should open a new support thread. Do include all relevant information that will help to produce the problem locally e.g. browser version, OS version, version of the controls, as well as a sample page that always exhibit this behaviour.

Jay,

this threads is 4 years old and the last reply in it si more than 2 years ago. Anything we said here may or may not be relevant.

As I noticed in my previous reply, we did improve RadRibbonBar massively about 3 years ago and the we continued to polish it.

Please obtain the latest possible version and test again to confirm that the issue still exists. If the issue is still there, do open a new support ticket detailing the way you are producing the bug. If it requires a bit of clicking and specific actions, feel free to record your screen. And lastly, we'll need a full page (sample project) that exhibits the behaviour.

Regards,
Ivan Zhekov
