My product makes use of the splitter control. Navigation is a thin pane on the left and the main content is on the right.

The thin navigation pane has a menu on it. Since the menu is in its own iframe, submenus expand down instead of right, simply because there is no room in the frame to expand right.

I was given a request to make the menu expand right instead of down, which would require it to expand outside of the radsplitter pane that it's in. Is this even possible? If so, how do I do it?

Hi Jeffrey Sylvan,

Please find attached a sample web application that shows the needed approach.

Paul,

What about menus in external pages refrenced from the ContentURL? Or was the point of the example to show that if I want the menus to work as requested, I can't use that option?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeffrey,

While using the ContentUrl property of the pane, RadSplitter renders the an iframe inside that pane and the requested page is loaded inside that iframe. Having this rendering, it's impossible for a control to overlay the borders of its iframe.
