Hi Telerik,

Is there a way to drag a file from windows explorer into the "Rad File Explorer" and have it upload the file?

Hi Alok,

The required functionality cannot be achieved with RadFileExplorer because such functionality is not supported by the major browsers them self.

In addition, there is a specification of File API, but this is currently available only in FireFox 3.6 and later versions.

Now that the AsyncUpload supports drag and drop using the FileAPI, how do we implement that using the AsyncUpload in the FileExplorer? Are there any examples available?

Hi Adam,

We do have planned to provide this feature in near future.

Currently, we are investigating this functionality for possible issues and side effects. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide firm estimate for when it will be available for RadFileExplorer. You can follow the development of this feature in our PITS: Public URL.

Hi Cavit,

The drag-and-drop upload in FileExplorer is implemented and will be available in our up-coming Q2 2015 Beta release scheduled for the end of next week.

Hi Vessy,

What else is coming with the new release ? It would be nice to have grouping by column.

Hi Cavit,

I am afraid that we do not have plans for grouping by columns feature for the moment, but you can feel free to submit is as a feature request in our Feedback Portal.

On a side note, you can find detailed list of the release and planned features for our controls in the following online resources:
