disallow client row selection client side

I need to toggle:

<ClientSettings>

      <Selecting AllowRowSelect="True" />

</ClientSettings>

via the client side API in a javascript function.

can't seem to be able to find out how.

Have you tried setting the AllowRowSelect from client side?

client side code:

    var grid = $find("<%=RadGrid1.ClientID %>");
    var mastertableView = grid.get_masterTableView();
    grid.ClientSettings.Selecting.AllowRowSelect = false; // selection not possible
