Disable auto correction using RadDatePicker

If you type somthing like 1/x into the edit box, it appears that some client javascript automatically changes this into something like 10/1/2009 when you tab out of the edit box.

Is there a way to disable the automatic conversion?

I would like the edit box to leave the value the user entered so I can do validation when the form is submitted.
