[Solved] Cut/Copy/Paste giving alert message in Firefox

Hi,
    I am working with Q1 2007 version controls.
    In editor, I am facing problem with cut/copy/paste functionality.  In fire fox browser, when I select some text and click on image of “cut”, it displays one ‘javascript alert’ with message that “Please use Ctrl+X to Cut”, which should not displayed and directly it should cut the selected text.  Same problem is occurring with copy and paste.

   

    It is only happening with fire fox browser. For other browser (IE 6/7, safari) it’s working fine.

 

    Please note that, because of some issue we cant upgrade our rad controls’ version. So please suggest any solution which can work in Q1 2007 version.

 

    I can attach current .dll of editor rad control and screen shot in case it required.

 

    Any help on this will be appreciated.

I am using the latest version : 2009.1.527.20 and I am getting the same problem in Firefox. It is not only on Cut it is on Copy as well. I've checked on the examples given on telerik website (http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/editor/examples/default/defaultcs.aspx) its even there as well. Is there a way to enable Cut/Copy with the button ?

I've another similar issue regarding copy paste in FireFox. 

I am using RadEditor in my application where I've images with scripts running ( onMouse over, validation check etc ). In firefox i can simply drag and drop images from my page. When i drag drop images on to RadEditor, it copies the script as well ( we can verify it with Html View). I've then two problems:

1. If the image has url and u click on it, u'll be directed to the url within the radEditor.

2. If the image has scripts and if u access it in IE, it'll give the Jscript error message.

Looking forward for help.

Hi Mittal,

To protect users' private information, unprivileged scripts cannot invoke the Cut, Copy, and Paste commands in the Mozilla / Firefox rich text editor, so the corresponding buttons on the editor toolbar just notify the user to use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + X, Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V.

For that reason, we cannot provide you with a workaround for Gecko browsers.
