We're maintaining a list of links in a Links list in SharePoint (MOSS). We'd like the contents of that list to drive the available links in the Custom Links dropdown.
Is it possible to either:
1) Point the ListToolsFile.XML to that list (ideal), or
2) After generating XML output from the Links list, include it in the ListToolsFile.XML?

Best case, the folder groupings in the Links list would become groupings in the dropdown.

Thanks,
M.

Hi Marc,

Can you please elaborate a little bit more on your scenario? What exactly do you want to achieve.

Basically, if you want to have different links in the ToolsFile.xml for different size, you can use the same approach as the one shown in the Different configuration files for different webs help article. If you want to generate this links dynamically, however, you should create a custom http handler for ListToolsFile.xml and generate the whole file with your links included.
