Hello Telerik,

I have asked Vasil on his blog how to accomplish the following and he suggested that I post here in order to get a more detailed response.

My question is how do I combine the new dropdown checkbox-filter (see the

'Filtering with Client-Side Binding', Country Column example) :

http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/grid/examples/functionality/filtering/basic-filtering/defaultcs.aspx

with the context menu found here (see the 'Ship City' column):

http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/grid/examples/columns-rows/columns/context-menu/defaultcs.aspx

My desire is to combine them into one dropdown, with the checkbox filters on the bottom half. Also wish to remove the 'Group By' from the menu.

Can you please give me sample code on how to combine the two and remove the one ??

Thanks !

Hello Robert,

I see that this is commonly required configuration, and I will create and upload a Code Library in a few days with runnable project that can be directly tested.

Hi Robert,

We researched more on this request, and it appears that with the current implementation of the RadGrid's context menu it is not possible to include the check list filtering inside it. We will try to improve this for our next releases. We are working for this, and for the upcoming release it would be possible to use server side load on demand data population for the check list. Our next step will be to improve the feel of the filtering and to provide option for the check list to appear in the header context menu out of the box.

Regards,
Vasil

Well, how could I not be saddened by that.

Be that as it may, it sounds like you are talking 2 releases from now that we *might* see it in there. That would mean a Q2 release around the summer sometime?

Forgive me, it's just the filter bar just doesn't cut it.
