[Solved] Can't open sample solution

I've been able to open the sample project once. Since then everytime I try to open the sample project Visual studio (2005) crashes and stop responding.

Is there any issues between rad control prometheus and Resharper ?

Anyone else had this problem ?

I tried to uninstall the rad control but the uninstall process is VERY slow.

I am working on Vista.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Math,

We are not aware of any known issues with the "Prometeus" controls and Resharper. Do you experience the same problem in a single project (not with the examples solution)?
Indeed you are right for the uninstall process - it takes about 15-20 mins with our current installer. Our developers are working on improving it in the near future. I believe it not a major show stopper for you.

I"ve uninstalled et reinstalled Prometheus controls. Same issue. Solution keep crashing when I try to open it. Visual studio stop responding and the last thing to appear in the bottom task bar is : Resharper menu initialized.

I am using the last version of resharper.

Do you have a lighter sample solution that I could try ? Something with only a grid for example ?

I will try in a simple project and get back to you. But at first glance it seems to be an issue with resharper and Prometheus.

Ps. I've tried loading a project with only a grid on a page and there is no problem. Maybe you could download Resharper and try to load the sample solution on your end. That way we could rule out ReSharper as a cause of the crashing.

Hi Math,

Please find attached a sample C# project.
Otherwise we tested locally the sample solution with Resharper and reproduced the VS 2005 crash. You may find a movie as part of our local tests. We are not exactly sure what is causing the crash but it is most likely related to Resharper and loading heavy projects.

It's strange... I've been working with a huge solution for over a year now and never had this problem before. Do you think the same problem occurs in VS2008 ?

Hi Math,

Yes, the same happens with VS2008. Unfortunately, there's no much we can do as we do not believe the problem is related to our controls' example project. Yes, we admit this is a large project and that might be the reason ReSharper hangs, but that could happen with any other large project.
