Best way to handle the EnableEmptyListItem selection

I use the EnableEmptyListItem often with GridDropDownColumns.  What is the best way to make sure that the user does select something in the list and not just leave the default value?

You can add a CustomValidator inside your edit form and validate the value of the combo box. For more information I would suggest that you review:
