at first I thought maybe it was my drive.
but when I tried to delete folder in question ( a folder with telerik install/upgrade files and folders), even the recycle bin complained about the file name being to long ?

Hi IQworks,
We haven't identified this problem with RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX so far hence to my regret I can't help with an exact suggestion. The strange thing is the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Live Examples do not contain an SQL file.
Can you give us some more hints regarding:
Do you know how the SQL file got created?
Did you get this error when deleting the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX installation, or did you have some project set up?
Did you create (and try to delete) a project with a deep directory structure?
You could still run the chkdsk.exe utility to check your hard disk for any file name errors.
