Hi all,
having a lot of trouble installing the new release of Telerik into VS2008. For starters, after the install no controls are loaded into the Toolbox. After I manually add the Toolbox items and then drag and drop a control on to an ASPX page a couple of things happen:

having a lot of trouble installing the new release of Telerik into VS2008. For starters, after the install no controls are loaded into the Toolbox. After I manually add the Toolbox items and then drag and drop a control on to an ASPX page a couple of things happen:
- Clicking on the control loads an empty Properties section - the control is highlighted and the name appears in the Properties window, but no events or property fields are displayed.
- In design view, no Smart Tags are visible. Right-clicking the control shows the Smart Tags option greyed out.
And ideas?

I am considering using the Telerik Grid control in an application I need to write, but need to know if it supports the following:
- Pure AJAX mode - I would like to instantiate/render the grid on the client (ie: no ASP.NET control), then use AJAX calls to a pre-written handler page (.ashx) to retreive the data to be populated in the grid. Is this possible? I need the application to be as lightweight as possible, so I dont want to use ASP.NET partial page rendering with the grid.
- Tree'd grid - need to have 2 levels of drill in where you start with say 5 rows, each with a + next to them, you can expand any of them to get more sub-rows (all with the same columns). Finally you can expand the subrows a second time with the same behavior, etc.
- Category/Subcategory column header. Need to be able to have 2 rows of column header that has a category/subcategory style relationship. So you would have maybe 4 columns with their own headers, then above those headers you have a single column header that is the parent category for those 4 subcategories, etc.

I have a RadMenu in my Sharepoint site. I want to load from a SiteMapDatasource. I have that working. What I want to do is to only load from that SiteMapDataSource 1 level down from the Level up. For instance, lets say my navigation is like this
Level 1.1
Level 2.1
Level 3.1
Level 1.2
Level 2.2
Level 3.2
I have a left navigation where I select Level 1.1. In the center of my page I have a RadMenu. I want the RadToolBar to load Level 2.1. The end result will look something like this

hi i have already sent so many mails to telerik client service..but still havent got any satisfied answer..now i think this is not a best tool for my application. please take a look over my problem once again and suggest me a solution.
i am preparing a employee management system for a cleaning company. but the schedule of employees are so much complicated and irragular. they need to work every day on diffrent sites. i used telerik schedular to prepare the roster for employees. now
1. i need to calculate total hours they worked every day and from that calculate total hours they worked every week and month so that i can calculate their total salaries..
2. if i calculate their time span for a job and save it into another table then there is a problem with reoccurence...
i dnt know how to do that. in my last forum they just suggest me to show in tooltip. but from tooltip how can i calculate the salaries..i concerned with so many developers but all were confused.
please help me..there is no existing system for that..and my client used to do all these things mannualy.

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out the best way to deal with the need to maintain past releases of our web application built with previous versions of Telerik.
From a deployment standpoint there is no problem - the Telerik DLLs can just be kept in the bin directories.
My question relates to the Visual Studio toolbox on the development machine. If I install a newer version, VS is updated with the latest Telerik controls. Will this cause problems if I open a website built using an older version?

I may be missing something very obvious, but is there any reason why the RadMenuItem objects don't render an ID attribute? To circumvent this problem, I've created a custom RadMenuItem object that renders an ID, but shouldn't this be the standard or atleast an option to turn on/off on the RadMenu control?

I'm using the RadAjaxManager from Q1 2009. In IE, everything works as expected, but in Firefox 3.0, the OnRequestStart only fires the first time and cannot seem to be trapped by Firebug for debugging. Any glaring problems identified in this code:

Whenever it is just added to a form, Custom validation (ASP.NET validations) stop working.
Please see the following two samples, the first one does not work while the other works, the only difference is adding the scriptmanager.

I have a page that has a dropdown list and a 2 pane splitter.
When I change the dropdown list, the 2 pane splitter updates and the loading panel functions properly.
In the left pane of the splitter, I have a tree view. When I drag and drop treeview elements, the loading panel only overlays the left pane of the splitter - this is proper and correct.
I also have a context menu on the treeview. When I select various options (except for one - continue reading, please) the loading panel overlays the left pane of the splitter only - this is proper and correct.
However, one of the context menu's options causes a user control to be updated that is in the right pane.
How can I cause the right pane to be updated and the ajax loading panel to cover the ENTIRE splitter (or the 2 panes independently - doesn't matter)? I have tried several options and can't seem to come up with something that work.
I don't think I can do this via that AjaxManagerProxy, since the individual context menu items don't have an associated ID with them. Do I need to (can I even) do this on the client side?
Any help would be appreciated.
