Identifying an AJAX request being raised

Hi,

I have a RADTreeView which initiates an AJAX request using the AJAX manager. This will not postback and thus not execute the Page_Load event handler, correct?

How can I identify then, when the page is not being posted back to the server but an ajax request has been raised by the user clicking an item in the treeview?

[Solved] Shrink ToolBar Height to Minimum Possible

I'm trying to shrink the ToolBar height to match the height of my button images (*.GIF files). The RadToolBar Height property is buggy and doesn't work properly. My buttons are only 9 pixels high so I should be able to shrink the ToolBar height by about 30%. I have tried all the CSS/Style examples on the forums and none of them work correctly.

I want to shrink the height to the minimum possible given my 9 pixel high button images. I do not want to apply this height shrinking to all tool bars on the page. Only some of them. I want to leave the rest of the tool bars at the stock height. I'm running Visual Studio 2008 SP1 with Telerik 2009 Q3, IE8 and Firefox. I'm currently using the Office 2007 Skin but it would be nice if the shrinking solution worked with all skins without modification.

Why can't I check a toolbar item on PageLoad

protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
             RadToolBarItem itemToCheck = toolbarNav.FindItemByValue("Trucks");
              itemToCheck.Checked = false;
        }

Checked is not there. Why isn't it there? Is there something else I should be using?

radtreenodes added but missing template

Hi all,

I have added node templates using the following code:

this works fine on all of my nodes when they are loaded remotely, however when i want to add a new node on the client-side using something like this:

    
            currentNode.get_nodes().add(newNode);

it will add the node, but it will ignore the template.

is this a bug, or am i missing something?

currentNode doesn't have access to the controls collection that you have when you add a node server side, nor can i find a way to add a template when adding a node to the currentNode.get_nodes() array in javascript.

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to make a tab with MultiPage control invisible in runtime.
I wrote the following code:

I'm using this code in the page load to hide the second tab:

When I open the page and switch to the third tab I see the content of the second tab.
I also tried setting the RadPageView as invisible , but then the third tab shows an empty page.

Any ideas?

AppointmentClick and DataItem

Hello,

is there any specific reason why Appointment object does have underlying DataItem null when accessed in AppontmentClick event? I'd like to use redirect to external edit form (Scheduler one) when appointment is clicked but before redirection I need to read some properties of my object that is mapped to Appointment.

Can I nest an unlimited amount of radgrids?

I have a structure, like a file system, that I want to display using the nesting features of a RadGrid. Can I make it so that it will recursively nest these items, to an unlimited depth?

In reality, the depth will probably not be more than 5, but I don't want to declaratively setup 5 levels of nesting. Is there a solution for this?

[Solved] AllowMultiRowSelection but without Header checkbox

Hi all,

I have a grid that allows multiple row selection however it does not allow certain rows to be selected with others. Therefore, I would like to hide the checkbox in the header since I never permit to select all rows.

In addition, how can I check on the client side that a certain row is not selected when other rows are already selected?

Add ajax settings on the fly...

Hi,
I have got many ajax settings to define and my page is heavy to render.
So I decide to add settings dynamically. The problem is i need to know ajax settings from Page_Load.
To resolve that, I added UpdatedControls in a hidden field from javascript and I start an ajaxRequest. During Page_Load on server, I retrieve UpdatedControls from hidden field and I build my ajax settings (my Initiator is RadAjaxManager1 to manage ResponseEnd).
My Page_Load set settings normaly but I always get the error :
Execution error Microsoft JScript: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Could not find UpdatePanel with ID 'dnn_ctrxxx_tvNodesPanel'. If it is being updated dynamically then it must be inside another UpdatePanel.
All my UpdatedControls are always visible ; I don't understand because if I mention these UpdatedControls directly from HTML tags
