So I've seen some of the examples on the site, specifically http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet/spell/spell_launching_upon_client-side_events.html and I can invoke the spell checker just fine on say a button click or some other UI event such as onblur of a textbox.  What I want to do is to spell check immediately when the page loads (without user interaction... steps described elsewhere on the site albeit for a previous version of the spell component: http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet/spell/spell_spellchecking_in_htm,_html,_and_asp_files.html)

For some reason I can't get the GetRadSpell() function to return an instance of the Spell Editor like what happens when I click it from a button.  Is it a timing issue?  Can I not do this on the window.load event of the browser?  Is there a way to get my desired result?  My code is below.

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="SpellChecker.aspx.cs" Inherits="EditorExample.SpellChecker" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>

</head>
<body>

        <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server">
        </asp:ScriptManager>
        <input type="text" id="test" value="misstake"/>
        <telerik:RadSpell ID="RadSpell1" runat="server" ControlToCheck="test" IsClientID="True"
            SupportedLanguages="en-US,English" />
        <span onclick="doSpellCheck()">Click me to spell check</span>
    </form>
    <script type="text/javascript">
        function doSpellCheck() {
            GetRadSpell('<%= RadSpell1.ClientID %>').startSpellCheck();
        }
        window.onload = doSpellCheck
    </script>
</body>
</html>

Thanks!

Hello,

these days I've experienced a problem with the radTreeView-Control.

The scenario:
I've checked a node with the mouse (clicking into the checkbox).
Then I've used the down-arrow-key to go to another node and checked that node with the space key.

What hapend?
The first node - I've checked with the mouse is changing it's checked-state, every time I'm pressing the space key.

You can try, because that's behavier is in your examples two.
1. Select the node you want to check with the mouse
2. Check the node (clicking with the mouse)
3. Use the arrow-down-key
4. Check another node(s) - pressing the sapce key

Best regards.

I had AutoGenerateColumns set to True, pointed my dataset to RadGrid1.DataSource, and everything worked fine. Now I set AutoGeneateColumns to False and manually add the columns. Here's my simplified code for test purposes...

    Protected Sub CreateColumns(ByVal ds As DataSet)
        RadGrid1.Columns.Clear()
        RadGrid1.AutoGenerateColumns = False
        Dim dt As DataTable = ds.Tables(0)
        For i As Integer = 0 To dt.Columns.Count - 1
            AddColumn(dt.Columns(i).ColumnName)
        Next
    End Sub

    Protected Sub AddColumn(ByVal strColumnName As String)
        Dim col As New GridBoundColumn
        col.DataField = strColumnName
        col.HeaderText = strColumnName
        RadGrid1.Columns.Add(col)
    End Sub

After doing this, if I click on the Header to sort the column, the grid does not sort, and all the HeaderText along the top disappears. Filtering also throws this error: "is neither a DataColumn nor a DataRelation for table DefaultView". Am I missing some setting? If it helps, here's my RadGrid...

        <telerik:RadGrid ID="RadGrid1" runat="server" AllowFilteringByColumn="True" AllowPaging="True"
            AllowSorting="True" GridLines="None" AutoGenerateColumns="False">
            <ClientSettings>
                <Selecting AllowRowSelect="True" />
            </ClientSettings>
        </telerik:RadGrid>

I've been receiving the following error messages from my website:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Telerik.Web.UI.RadUpload.IsValidMimeType(UploadedFile file) at Telerik.Web.UI.RadUpload.IsValidUploadedFile(UploadedFile file, Boolean checkingFileSize, Boolean checkingFileExtension, Boolean checkingMimeType) at Telerik.Web.UI.RadUpload.ValidateUploadedFiles() at Telerik.Web.UI.RadUpload.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

the user agent is :
HTTP_USER_AGENT:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/3.0.195.33 Safari/532.0

I'm guessing the problem is that the user is using chrome, and for some reason it's stripping the document of a mime type. Is there any workaround that anyone know of for this, or a fix? right now I'm catching the error and telling the user to use Firefox or IE, as it works perfectly there.
this is the code for the upload control
<telerik:RadUpload ID="upldResume" runat="server"
                    ControlObjectsVisibility="ClearButtons"
                    InputSize="50"
                    Width="475px"
                    MaxFileSize="500000"
                    MaxFileInputsCount="1"
                    ReadOnlyFileInputs="true"
                    Enabled="true"
                    EnableFileInputSkinning="true"
                    AllowedFileExtensions=".pdf,.doc,.docx,.wpd,.odt,.rtf,.txt"
                    AllowedMimeTypes="application/pdf,application/x-pdf,application/msword,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document,application/wordperfect,application/x-wpwin,application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text,application/x-vnd.oasis.opendocument.text,application/rtf,application/x-rtf,text/richtext,text/rtf,text/enriched,application/txt,text/plain"
                    ToolTip="Upload a resume"
                    />

Thank you,

There appear to be issues regarding keyboard navigation of the RadFileExplorer. These issues are evident in the demo provided on:

http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/fileexplorer/examples/default/defaultcs.aspx

Specifically, the issues are:

1. In Firefox, keyboard navigation of the tree does not work. Keyboard navigation of the grid is fine.
2. In IE(7+), whilst keyboard navigation of both the tree and the grid seem to work okay, navigation from the grid back to the tree is awkward (I have actually been unable to do it, so may be impossible). Forward navigation appears to be acceptable.

When the user types the space bar, RadEditor sometimes inserts a non-breaking space character (&nbsp;). This is great, but when switching to the HTML view, RadEditor displays &nbsp; as normal spaces. There are times when you need to differentiate between a normal and non-breaking space and that now becomes very difficult to do.

Would it be possible to add a property to enable/disable non-breaking space auto-conversion while in HTML mode? EnableHtmlNonBreakingSpaceConversion or something similar?

Going through this example
http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/treeview/examples/functionality/treeviewcombobox/defaultcs.aspx?product=treeview
of using the TreeView inside a RadCombo, Its the text values that is sent to the server, how would I get the ID to the serverside. I have added the autopostback = true as depending on the ID I have to do other things.

Does the RadGrid support a "grouping header" (i.e., where certain columns could be grouped together)?

For example:

Sunday

Monday

Morning

Afternoon

Evening

Morning

Afternoon

Evening

Thanks!
