Hi there.

What I'm trying to achieve here is to get a dynamic TabStrip to which I can create new tabs.
Each of those tabs include a pageview.
Each of those pageview embeds a usercontrol.
Those usercontrols are consisting in a RadDockLayout + RadDockZone + a Button to create new docks on the current selected tab/pageview.

So far nothing that sounds too fancy or hard to create. The current code works fine:

Here's my "Default.aspx". You can notice that I'm not currently using the RadAjaxManager to Ajaxify my controls.
In this page I'm creating my dynamic TabStrip control that let you create and close tabs via a close button.

As I said, this works fine. But what I want to achieve is to ajaxify the whole lot, i.e Use my RadAjaxManager on my default.aspx page.
Right now, as soon as I create a new tab, it postback the page and I'm losing some info (plus the page flicks on Chrome, FF is alright)

If I enable my AjaxManager I get the following error message that plenty of people have seen before:
"Sys.InvalidOperationException: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Could not find UpdatePanel with ID 'LineBuilder_pvNew_0_UpLineBuilderHidden'. If it is being updated dynamically then it must be inside another UpdatePanel"

Although I've found many people with the same issue of having an Update Panel within an Ajaxified usercontrol (see here for Telerik explanation) I can't get my mind around this to get a fully ajaxify project.

Another behavior I would like to code is to get an horizontal scrolling bar to appear when adding new docks rather than having them stacking on a new row and a vertical scroll bar.

You can download the project source as zip from here

Any idea / help would be much appreciated.

Cheers everyone,

Chris

I have a radgrid.
The dataitem row has several controls but two in particular have values I need for a javascript ajax call I need to make.
The user story is this...
A user sees a series of rows with a CampusID  - a simple label  and a copiesNeeded - a radnumerictextbox.
The ROW is NOT in edit mode, nor will it be...
The user clicks in the radtextbox and enters a value.
When they leave the textbox an onBlur  event is fired.

Now in a client side javascript function I want to get the value they have entered in the radnumerictextbox and determine the value of the CampusID from the CampusNameLabel-- unless of course there is an easier means to do this clientside...
For example:

//================================================
//===   Save the value entered in the grid for copies needed.
//================================================
function saveCopiesNeeded(src, args) {
// Get the row the user had made changes in so I can get the campusID
// Get the radNumericTextbox so I can get the value the user typed

}

<telerik:GridTemplateColumn FilterControlAltText="Filter column" UniqueName="CampusID"
                       HeaderText="Campus ID" SortExpression="CampusID">
                       <ItemTemplate>
                           <asp:Label ID="CampusIDLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"CampusID") %>'></asp:Label
                       </ItemTemplate>
                       <HeaderStyle HorizontalAlign="Center" />
                       <ItemStyle HorizontalAlign="Center" Wrap="False" VerticalAlign="Middle" />
                   </telerik:GridTemplateColumn>

<
telerik:GridTemplateColumn FilterControlAltText="Filter TemplateColumn column" UniqueName="TemplateColumn">
                    <ItemTemplate>
                        <telerik:RadNumericTextBox ID="CopiesToOrderRadNumericTextbox" runat="server" Culture="en-US" DbValueFactor="1" LabelWidth="64px" MinValue="0" Width="70px">
                            <NumberFormat DecimalDigits="0" ZeroPattern="n" />
                            <ClientEvents OnBlur="saveCopiesNeeded"></ClientEvents>
                        </telerik:RadNumericTextBox>
                    </ItemTemplate>
                </telerik:GridTemplateColumn>

Hello,

today, I spent hours trying to solve a
"Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException"
on the radgrid.

It happened only for some records. After some time, I narrowed it down to one single record.
Then I noticed, even in SQL Server, the record was truncated. Impossible to read beyond a certain point.
The radgrid was still able to show the whole record, but only on the page load: any async request would cause a:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.
Details: Error parsing near ' to move '.

After a few more hours of digging, I noticed firefox had no problems at all displaying the record, even in async postbacks...
And finally, I noticed the cause: in the middle of the record.
(Not even sure this will display for IE users)
A little ascii square!

So much pain, for one ascii square...
So many articles, so many forum threads... None ever mentionned this.. So I thought there should be at least one forum thread about this...
Good luck to anyone stumbling on this while searching for a mystical "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException".
Those are hard...

I am currently using RadAsyncUpload with ManualUpload="true". I have  MultipleFileSelection="Disabled" but will allow multiple file inputs.

I am also using RadProgressArea.

Is there a way to check for invalid files before I fire startUpload(); ??
Or if not, can I stop the upload without removing all of the inputs?

If I cancel, can I restart the upload without removing all of the inputs?

Thanks, Marty

I am using RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX, v.2012.2.912.40

I am trying to set the Time on my RadTimePicker using the SelectedTime member in the C# code-behind, but I get the compiler error:
        'Telerik.Web.UI.RadTimePicker' does not contain a definition for 'SelectedTime'

I am able to set it using the SelectedDate property, so my code works, but the on-line documentation states that the SelectedTime member should work. http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/p_telerik_web_ui_radtimepicker_selectedtime.html

Mostly I'm just curious why the compiler doesn't recognize the SelectedTime member.

Here's the ascx code fragment:
<telerik:RadDateInput ID="DateIN" runat="server"> </telerik:RadDateInput>
<telerik:RadTimePicker ID="TimeIN" runat="server"> </telerik:RadTimePicker>

Here's the C# code behind:
DateTime? dateIN = DateTime.Now;
TimeSpan? timeIN = dateIN.Value.TimeOfDay;
DateIN.SelectedDate = dateIN;

// this works
TimeIN.SelectedDate = myData.DateIN.Value.Date.AddMinutes(myData.TimeIN.Value.Minutes);

// this doesn't compile & it should
TimeIN.SelectedTime = timeIN;

FYI: I am using version Q2 2011.

Here is the situation: I am using the FormDecorator control to style my radio buttons and checkboxes. These look great in the latest versions of Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari (Windows and Mac).

However, with the ipad and iPhone, these controls show an odd border. I've attached a picture for your viewing pleasure. I'm not sure that "border" is even the right word. It is very odd looking.

I thought it might be my skin, but it appears even with a test project where I just created a radiobuttonlist, add the form decorator control and set the skin to Default.

To see this in action on your iphone/ipad, you can look here.

I cannot seem to get the pauseUpload example to work.  Is the example just set up wrong?

RadAsyncUpload1 is set to ManualUpload but RadAsyncUpload2 is not but the buttons to pause and resume refer to RadAsyncUpload2.

If pauseUpload() and resumeUpload() are part of  manual upload then the buttons should refer to  RadAsyncUpload1  right?

I am still using q3 2012 so I cannot test locally.

We are using Opera Mobile Version 10.
We had just upgraded the Telerik Tools to Q1 2013 from Q2 2012.

While using the Q2 2012 tools every thing appear to be working.  However after we upgraded to Q1 2013, the AutoCompleteBox seems to not be working correctly.  While the AutoCompleteBox is on the page none of the Telerik controls appear to work, removing the AutoCompleteBox they will.

Is there something that has changed that I need to change?

Also to note: We have used other browsers and it appears to be working as intended - only noticing this on the Opera Mobile browser.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

When i click the ComboBox for the very first time it works just as expected. Then it collapses and gets disabled.
Am i missing some setting? Btw, i populate the Combo using DataBind call.

cmb.DataTextField = "fieldname"
cmb.DataValueField = "ID"
cmb.DataSource = table
cmb.DataBind()

Thanks
