I added the web part to my page, but when I click on the link button, it does not do anything and the IE bottom border flashes - Error on page. The image icon and the table icon work fine. The page is a blank web part page with no content.

I want to use your editor because the out of the box Sharepoint content editor web part changes relative links to absolute. I can't test your web part if the link tool does not work however.

Thanks,

Samantha

Hello Sam,

This is a known problem with the current version of the content editor Web Part. We have already fixed it for the next release. You have two choices if you want to fix this problem. You can either switch to the built-in editor dialog for links, or you can open a formal support ticket and request that we send you a RC build of the upcoming editor.

To enable the alternative links dialog, open the editor's tools file (ToolsFile.xml) from \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\wpresources\RadEditorSharePoint\4.1.0.0__1f131a624888eeed\RadControls\Editor\ and replace the tool MOSSLinkManager with just LinkManager.

Kind regards,

Is the "built-in editor dialog for links" the same link dialog used with the Sharepoint content editor web part? If so, I assume it will have the same bug where relative links are changed to absolute?

Thanks,

Sam

I changed the tool to the LinkManager. It does not allow browsing to the document or page that you want to link to so this will not work for us.

I tried to open a support ticket to get the release with the fix early, as you suggested. However, it gives me an error saying:

"We are sorry, but your support package is not active. This is due to one of the following reasons: "

But I don't think any of the reasons apply to me. I did download the RadEditor Friday, and my 60 day trial support has obviously not expired.

How do I get the new release?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Sam,

Log into your client.net account and open this page - http://www.telerik.com/client.net/my-support-tickets/new-support-ticket.aspx. From there expand the RadControls for ASP.NET product and you will be able to post a new ticket for the editor.

Sincerely yours,
Lini
