I want the filter option disabled while editing. How can I accomplish that?

Try the following code snippet.

protected void RadGrid1_ItemDataBound(object sender, GridItemEventArgs e)

 if (e.Item is GridEditableItem && e.Item.IsInEditMode)
 {
   RadGrid1.MasterTableView.GetItems(GridItemType.FilteringItem)[0].Visible = false;
