Aloha friends and welcome to the new Telerik UI for .NET MAUI release!

As we promised, we are following the Microsoft releases so you can use Telerik UI for .NET MAUI with the latest features of the framework. We also added one more component to allow you to develop richer apps for mobile and desktop—the BadgeView component. Last but not least, we have developed a new demo application to demonstrate the use of our UI controls in a real-life sample application.

Let’s go through all the new stuff in this release.

Support for .NET MAUI Preview 12

As always, we make sure that all our existing controls are compatible with the latest preview from Microsoft. The new Preview 12 comes with many quality improvements, new capabilities and exciting enhancement to Shell. For more information on what’s new in the .NET MAUI Preview 12, check out the Microsoft release blog post.

BadgeView Component Joins the Telerik UI for .NET MAUI Family

The new BadgeView component brings a modern way to notify users or grab their attention to perform a certain activity on your application in a mobile or desktop scenario.

Subtly alerting the users of your .NET MAUI applications for status changes has never been easier! The Telerik UI for .NET MAUI BadgeView control allows you to display notifications or short messages via a set of predefined badges right into your cross-platform application.

BadgeView-Types include Dot, with a small red dot at the lower right of the circular photo representing an app icon; Default, with a larger red dot at lower right (the rest of the indicators are at this default size); Available with a green dot and a checkmark inside it; Add with the green circle and a plus sign; Remove with a red circle and an X; Do Not Disturb with a red circle and a minus sign; Out of office with a gray circle and a right arrow; Offline with a gray circle and an X; Rejected with a gray circle and a No circle (the circle with a slash through it); and Away with an orange circle and a clock icon.

Here are some of the key features to watch out for:

  • Badge Position: BadgeView allows you to specify the badge position based on its content.
  • Badge Alignment: You can easily align the badge according to its content.
  • Badge Animation: You can choose whether to have an animation while displaying the badge. In addition, you can specify the animation duration and animation easing.
  • Badge Types: You can choose between various predefined badge types. Also, you have the option to customize and style the badge types.
  • Flexible Styling API and Customization Options: The styling capacities of the BadgeView control allow you to apply BackgroundColor, Border Thickness and Color. Also, we have an exposed API, which you can use to fully customize and style the badge indicator.
