hi,
is there any body lucky in finding out wpf report  viewer in telerik reporting tool.
    1. I installed  telerik reporting tool after that i started to create a sample report that i kept in a control library project.
2.then I added a wpf application project in the same solution.after that i added references  teassemblyref://Telerik.ReportViewer.Wpf, control library ( a report is created inside before).
    3. then i added the same(Telerik.ReportViewer.Wpf) in my xaml code file and given the alias.
4.after that ,inside the  grid tag i added a tag and entered the alias and called report viewer and given aname and closed the tag.

but no report viewer is added inside the wpf window.

but after installng RAD Control tool  report viewer is displaying in case we following the same procedure discussed above.

if i am right, then my question is why wpf report viewer is not available in telerik reporting tool and for that only we have to purchase RAD control also why?

waiting for a reply thanks for taking care of this thread

Hello Adil,

The WPF viewer is part of the Telerik Reporting product and not of RadControls for WPF suite. However as noted in the WPF Report Viewer help article, it is required to have the corresponding RadControls for WPF version, available at the time of the Telerik Reporting release to use the Telerik Reporting WPF Report Viewer.

Just so I understand, in order to use your reporting solution for WPF we also have to buy your controls package?

Andreas

Hello Andreas,

The default control template for the WPF ReportViewer depends on Telerik RadControls for WPF, however for the sole purposes of the Telerik Report Viewer for WPF, you may use the TRIAL version of Telerik RadControls for WPF – they will not throw trial messages when used in any version of Telerik Reporting. If, however, the WPF controls are used outside the Telerik ReportViewer, they will show a trial message.

You can find the requires assemblies in the examples folder, usually at C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Reporting Q2 2012\Examples\CSharp\WpfDemo\bin

Hi Steve,

I have to hand it to you - that is the quickest forum response I have had, ever - kudos to you!

Thanks for the info about the assemblies. I'm just trying to hammer out a test application on some of our data to see how things work compared to a few other solutions we're evaluating.

Are there bundle prices available when purchasing the Rad controls and reporting, or is the only option to go for the Complete pack (which contains a whole lot of things we're not interested in...we already have a WPF controls provider that we're happy with)

Edit: Did I perhaps misinterpret your post? Are you saying we don't have to purchase Rad controls if all we're doing is showing and printing reports within our own application? The trial message issue only appears if we use any of the Rad controls outside of the ReportViewer?

Regards,

Andreas

Hello Andreas,

Thanks - just trying to deliver more than expected :)

And yes, you do not have to purchase RadControls for WPF if all you need and going to use is Telerik Reporting.
