Whats with the new demos

The new asp.net demos are not that great.  

To start with they use the new windows style which I think looks awful but accept that is a subjective opinion.

More importantly I have the following issues:
1) They are very slow
2) The Forum link is now missing
3) The documentation link is now missing
4) The size of them is such that even on my large monitor I'm having to scroll up and down a lot.
5) Rather than reskinning the demos maybe a more relevant focus would be on expanding their quantity so that more items are covered. 

You're going down the devexpress route of redoing the website more for the look of it than for the functional use..

Can you specify which demos you find slow, are there any particlular or you are experiencing hard time loading any of the demos? Is the behavior the same if you load them from another network?

As to the forum and documentation links - you can find the control specific ones loading the Overview demo of any control. Check the "Resources" section located bottom-right.

Regardig the scrolling issue - we will most probably start using smaller font when the next version is released so it should be easier to review the whole source code of the page.

Also, do you have particular functionalities or scenarios you miss when browsing the demos?

I'm not on a particularly fast connection here at work but the demos are so much slower than they used to be.  They are slower in loading times and navigation terms.  They are faster from my home connection however as that is super fast and way above the average speed I don't think it counts.

Thanks for that pointer - I'll have a look.   Good news re the smaller font size (hopefully good anyway!).

Probably - I'll let you know after I have had a look.,

The one thing I have always been frustrated with is that there could be a lot more demos showing many more aspects of the controls... And also more showing integration with other controls.  

Now if only you could get rid of the nasty Windows 8 theme from them :)

Thanks for the details on the performance of the demos. We will perform further investigation and see if we can make the demos faster.

As to the idea for new demos - if you have particular request for demos and functionality you miss, do let us know.

The Windows 8 style theme will not be removed so easily, but you can at least use the skin chooser to change the Skin used for the controls in the demo area.
