Hi there
I'm just evaluating your Prometheus controls at the moment with the trial version. Have just hooked in the Treeview in webservice mode into my project and it works a treat, very very impressed. Is there going to be a webservice mode for the grid ?
Thanks

Hi Gavin Bryan,
Unfortunately RadGrid does not currently provide built-in support for operation with web services.
We apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

Hi Gavin,
We have this request logged in our "features list", but have not considered it for recent release. Basically the more requests we receive for a feature, the bigger the chance that we investigate and consider the possibility of implementing a certain functionality.
What do you think guys, would built-in support for operation with web services bring value and contribute to our RadGrid control?
Sincerely yours,
Steve

Web service integration would be a great feature with navigation controls especially with Grid. I am currently evaluating 3rd party controls for my project. But i am in a big dilemma between Telerik and CompentArt. I am satisfied with all the controls and features in Telerik except for the Grid. I am really impressed with the Webservice integration with the CompentArt Grid. If Telerik has a similar feature then i would have purchased it immediately.
Or if you could provide me a work around (manually) for implementing webservice with Telerik Grid then it would solve my dilemma.

Thanks Vlad,
Thats a lightning fast reply. I apreciate it.
I have check the demo it is excellant. I checked with Fiddler and could see the JSON transfer and this is what exactly i was looking for.
I am yet to check the code implementation but the url tells me that it uses LINQ ASP.3.5. My query is, can this implementation is valid for ASP.NET 2.0 because i use ASP.NET 2.0.
Will this webservice feature be integrated in the framework (especially with Grid) as part of the next release? If so, when Telerik planned for the next release?
Once again thanks for your quick reply.

Hello Sundar,
This new client functionality will be introduced officially for the next release of RadGrid for ASP.NET AJAX, expected at the end of July (as part of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Q2 2008). I believe this is good news for you.
Best regards,
Stephen

Thanks for your reply Stephen.
That's really a good news for me. If i purchase the existing version of RadControls will i get the Q2 upgrade as free or i should pay any additional fee for that.
Also could you please confirm the Vlad demo in the previous reply on client side functionlity with Grid is applicable for ASP.NET 2.0? or is it only applicable for ASP.NET 3.5?
