We have this old project that uses the RadScheduler from Q2 2010.

We want to upgrade to the latest version (Q3 2012) to get the recurring calendar feature.

We have gone through the process of upgrading the Visual Studio project to use the latest version of RadControls.

Now, what code do we have to add/modify to make the recurring calendar feature show up?

    Hello Quinton,

Basically there is no specific code that should be added -only the appropriate data fields and database structure have to be included when binding RadScheduler as for example it is done in the code of this on-line demo.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

I am having trouble understanding your answer. Is there anything I can do?

You say there is no specific code that should be added, but that I should look at the code example of this on-line demo???? So do I have to change any of my code or not?

The database structure information your provided is helpful for initally creating the structre, but not upgrading it.

How do other compaines upgrade their controls? Is there some sort of upgrade guide? Or do they just start from scratch and redo their entire application each time a new update comes out?

    Hi Quinton,

It seems that I could not explain quite well. Please excuse me for that. What I meant basically is that in the mark up of RadScheduler you do not have so set any additional fields but the once that are using the recurrence appointments- RecurrenceRule and RecurrenceParentID.

In case your scenario is more complicated I will recommend you to review the changes in the properties used in different releases in the release history.

In case of using the Advanced template of the scenario of RadScheduler I will recommend you to inspect and compare your code with the one shared in this code library.

    Hope this will be helpful.
