Hi,

In our local tests we have successfully printed reports with Telerik Reporting 5.0.11.316, Chrome 10.0.648.134 and Adobe Reader 10.0.1. Please make sure that the Adobe's plugin is enabled from chrome://plugins/ . Additionally some of our customers reported that their computers needed a restart after enabling the Adobe's plug-in.

Best wishes,
Peter

Also I have the same problem, I'm working with FireFox 5.0, chrome 12.0.742.112, Internet Explorer 9.0, Adobe Reader 10.1.0 and telerik reporting 2010 with visual studio 2008.
Updates to the plugings are updated, I would appreciate help with this please, thanks.

Hello Manuel,

The problem is Chrome specific and does not relate to the other browsers. As my colleague stated in the previous reply, make sure that the Adobe's plugin is enabled from chrome://plugins/.

Best wishes,

Do you have plans to support the Chrome PDF Viewer?

Hi Richard,

Printing in Chrome without having to enable the Adobe PDF plugin is in our TO DO list. Thus we will further investigate for feasible solution.

Hello,

Printing in Chrome without having to enable the Adobe PDF plugin is in our TO DO list

In my opinion, this needs to be given top priority over other matters (such as new features, etc.). Chrome has significant market share, and this problem creates a serious user support concern.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Hello Aron,

Yes, you would be able to print using the Chrome plug-in, this information is already available in the True Print help article.

Hello Nicolas,

Thanks for the heads up, we verified that the new built-in PDF viewer in Firefox does not work with the Print of the ASP.NET viewer and we would research whether we can use it in similar fashion as we did with Chrome PDF plug-in.

For the time being, please specify the Adobe Acrobat plug-in for handling PDF files (Tools -> Options -> Application Tab -> pdf File -> Adobe Acrobat.

All the best,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Any news about this? I'm experiencing the same thing with the Silverlight ReportViewer.
Your current fix of course works and that's what I've been using. But for our end customers it's not that easy mostly because the Firefox PDF is the default.

Hello Tomas,

Generally in case of the Silverlight report viewer our suggestion is to utilize the Silverlight native print. Still we have released an internal build that includes the bug fix in question. You can download it from the latest internal build page.

Hi Peter,

I tried the new internal build and yes it works better now but it's still doesn't print directly instead a save/open with dialog is shown (before nothing happened). Do I need to change some settings in Firefox to make it print automatically (show print dialog)?

Concerning Silverlight native print I would very much like to switch to using that but as I understand you haven't been able to fix the quality of printed barcodes using native print yet, and that's a requirement for me.

Hi Tomas,

Currently Firefox don't expose the content type viewing preferences and the PDF plug-in is always active whether or not it is the preferred viewing option. Thus for Firefox 19+ we have decided to fallback the print operation to export operation and let the users to print the PDF document with the available at their disposal PDF viewing tools. This is the only way we can guarantee an appropriate action for the PDF print operation.

Generally with the migration to Silverlight 5 we have improved the Silverlight native print experience. Thus you should experience a great improvement regarding the barcodes rendering and our suggestion is to give it a try.

Greetings,
Peter
