This is probably not the best place for this, but I didn't see anything more appropriate. In order to get a project I'm working on compiling again (new machine, have to reinstall and reconfigure a gazillion things), I need to install Telerik components. However, when I try to do so, it tells me it must first download an updated installer. I agree, and it runs for awhile and then crashes, telling me:

Telerik.CommonInstaller.ControlPanel has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

So what can I do to install?

In my case, I had to use a newer version of the installation package, then it ran fine. I was trying to install last year's components at first. Once I downloaded the latest, it worked fine.

More specifically, I downloaded and installed "TelerikControlPanelSetup_2013_2_625.exe"

I had been trying to install "TelerikControlPanelSetup_2012_2_???.exe"

Thank you!!!

But how can I install the latest ?
When I launch the Telerik Control Panel it says that there is an update so it tries to do this update but it fails !
I have the same problem if I try to download the Telerik Control Panel from here !
So what can I do ?

I believe I downloaded it from here: http://www.telerik.com/developer-productivity-tools.aspx or just http://www.telerik.com

Once you enter your authentication info (name, password/license number), it should show you what's available to you.

Hi everyone,

Generally this seems as a known issue and the responsible team is working on a dix in the meantime our suggestion is to use the msi installer.

You can download different products msi files after logging into your accounts and navigating to Products & Subscriptions -> DevCraft (for instance) -> Download -> (desired product).

If you need further help with any installation file, please create a log file as described in the Telerik Reporting Installation Problems help article and send the information into a support ticket to the corresponding team according to the product.

Have you tried the new visualization options in Telerik Reporting Q2 2013? You can get them from your account.

Hi Yves,

Try to uninstall Telerik Control Panel from Windows "Programs and Features", then download and install it again. You can download the latest Control Panel here.

I hope this helps.
