Hi,

When i create a table that has either conditional formatting to hide row visibility or uses Data > Bindings to hide row visibility it works well when exporting to PDF.

When exporting to Powerpoint the rows that are supposed to be hidden do not show any data but there is still  blank space between the visible rows.

Is there a work around for this or is this a bug?

Thanks

Steve

Hello Steve,

Thank you for reaching out.

If I understood correctly, you export Telerik Reports to different formats, and the rendered PPTX documents are not as expected.

I am confident that the issue you have experienced is related to a PowerPoint rendering bug we found recently - When rendering reports with complex tables/crosstabs to PPTX, the layout of the generated document is incorrect.

I have added a vote to this bug item on your behalf to both increase its priority and allow you to receive notifications when its status changes.

That said, currently, the workaround is to convert the table to a list. The general process of doing this is as follows:

  1. Add a new list to the report and make sure its size and data source are the same as the table.
  2. Add a parent static group (static as in the grouping expression returns the same result regardless of the data) to the list's detail group and check the Add Header option

  3. Delete the new automatically-generated column (choose "Delete columns only" when asked).
  4. Add a panel to the newly created list header and copy the text boxes from your existing table's header to it.
  5. Copy the text boxes from your table's detail row to the panel in the list's detail section. Copying the textboxes should transfer the conditional formatting rules you have applied so there should be no need to reapply them.

Could you try this workaround on your end and let me know if it worked for you?

Also, if it did not, would you be able to send your report to me so that I can take a closer look at it?

Awaiting your update.

Regards,
Ivet
