hi,

I got an Telerik License from my employer but also Rider. Is there a way to install Telerik extensions on Rider or do you have any plans for the future to support this?

BR,

Kay

Hello Kay,

Thank you for writing to us.

Currently there are no Telerik extensions for Rider IDE. This is a great suggestion that we are going to discuss and consider but as for now I cannot commit to anything in the future.

I prefer rider - smaller that visual studio (and much cheaper) no memory leaks, and it generally runs faster.  Please let me know if any of these are created.

Hi James/William,

We do not offer JetBrains Rider extension support at this time.

As a side note, we do have new VSCode Extensions => Telerik UI for .NET MAUI Productivity Tools - Visual Studio Marketplace. They integrate very well with the modern .NET and .NET MAUI support in VSCode.

Why would I use an inferior product - when I pay for the better product.

Hi James/William,

My colleague Lance suggested VS Code as we have extension for this. At this time, we do not offer an extension for Jet Brains Rider.

From the Telerik MAUI docs: https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/maui/introduction under downloads and Installation section, there are options you can use to install the controls. The Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code Integration use the extensions we have for Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.

How wonderful for anyone that wants to use a cheap tool that is not efficient.  I bought Telerik for the same reason.  Rider is a great tool out of the box.  If you load the free visual studio code with hundreds of plugins - it starts to come close to Rider.  Of which there is a free version now.  Please let me know whenever you get around to making any extension for rider, as that would be great, because I prefer to only use IDE's and prefer to use the ones by Jetbrains.  For the same reason I prefer Telerik -they are great "Paid for" tools.

Hi James/William,

Thank you for your all of the feedback in this thread. I have shared it with the management and development teams.

Regarding to providing extensions for Jet Brains Rider, I am afraid, this is not in our immediate plans.
