Is it possible to capture click events from within the form and the element that was clicked?  For instance a report with a hyperlink (handle click event to open default browser)?

Thanks

Hi Chris Taylor,

At present you cannot handle the click of a report item. We plan to add this and other interactive report features (drill-down, drill-through, document map, bookmarks and hyperlinks) in the near future. Please, check the public Roadmap regularly for more information on the dates when these features will be available.

Kind regards,

Hi Svetoslav,

It seems that drill-down feature has not been provided in the recently released V2 telerik reporting component (Q3 2007), is there a firm release date for this feature? BTW, it seems the roadmap page does not have any information about the coming releases.

We are in need of drill-down feature in our project, and would definitely appreciate if it can be released soon.

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

We will definitely add interactive report capabilities to Telerik Reporting in 2008 but exactly when we cannot say at this time. We have just released Q3 2007 and we are in the process of preparing our vision for 2008. As soon as we have firm information on the next release, we will update the product Roadmap. Please, note that the Roadmap contains information on the next release only (in this case Q1 2008). We do not post info for the whole year, as plans change progressively and we cannot be 100% certain what we will offer at the end of 2008. Nevertheless, we have many requests for drill-down reports and they will surely appear this year.

We will discuss the Q1 2008 plans in the upcoming weeks and will post the information on our site as soon as we have it. Right now we are working on the 2007 Q3 Service Pack 1 which we will release in a couple of weeks and then we will start with the next version.

All the best,

Hi,

I'm curious if this capability is in the current version now? I can't find a reference to it in the documents yet.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

As can be seen from our Q1 release notes, we've been quite busy with other highly demanded features and improvements. Interactive features for Telerik Reporting are still in our TODO list, but we cannot engage with a specific date due to the dynamic environment we work in.

Thank you for the patience and understanding.

All the best,
Steve

Steve,
Is the ability to handle click events on reports going to make it in the product. For us, this is buying criteria. If the answer is no, we will most likely not be able to purchase.

Having clicked event handling, drill downs, pop-up, and hover information (with clickable navagation) is a mandatory requirement for a report writer.

The clickability needs to also follow through with exported reports.

This is expected with financial reports that are saved to a local machine and/or emailed.

Hi guys,

As our last reply was nearly a month ago, we do not have anything new to add except that we appreciate your feedback and would do our best to deliver this functionality with the Telerik quality you're used to.
@David: yes it is in our TODO list, but no timeframe is available at this point.

Thank you for the patience!

Best wishes,
Steve

Hi there,
I just wanted to know is this functionality (to handle the report click event) is available now? or yet it is in "TO DO" list.

Thanx.
Nayum Tamboli.

Hello Nayum,

As outlined in our product Roadmap, the Q2 release would introduce drill through reports and subreports, jumping to other sections in a report, and navigating to external web URLs. This functionality will be provided by using hyperlinks.

Hello,

We are happy to announce that Reporting Q3 2010 offers drill down interactive functionality for all report items, but charting (a workaround for charting is posted here). Q3 2010 was released yesterday.

The drill down interactivity complements the previous interactive features, introduced earlier this year (drill through, links, etc.). Review What's New in Q3 2010 Reporting and check the more technical Q3 release notes.

The Q3 version with drill down reporting is available for download in your account.

Enjoy and send us your feedback!

Sincerely yours,
Vassil
