LightSwitch is going to be a great development tool for LoB apps based on Silverlight 4 technology. It saves a lot of time by automating many steps. However, any LoB apps ends up requiring lots of reports, printings and etc. But the unfortunate part is, LS V1 (due to time constraints and others), will not have reporting and I see more and more developers voicing their frustration and disappointment over this issue. I think Telerik has a great Reporting service and with the new SL viewer, it can perhaps solve this problem and offer a solution.
My question, is the team looking at having a custom solution for LightSwitch? If yes, please let us know, so we can spread the word and bring you business.
Thanks!
..Ben

Hi guys,
Yes, there is an obvious opportunity in providing a custom Reporting control for LightSwitch and we will do our best to provide one, as Svetoslav noted on 9/3/2010. Telerik Reporting's viewer depends on our Silverlight controls and right now we are in the process of making sure that our Silverlight controls work in LightSwitch. As soon as this happens, we will provide information on how to use Telerik Reporting's Silverlight viewer in a LS project.
We will update this thread as soon as we have something for you guys to play with.
All the best,
Vassil

Hi Vassil;
Thank you for responding. I'm sure many will be pleased to hear Telerik is actively is investigating this as well. I'm sure this will work out for both sides.
Please keep us posted on your findings and we'll try to keep others posted as well.
Thank you once again;

Hi guys,
I am pleased to let you know that you can start using Telerik Reporting in LightSwitch Beta 2. It should be quite straight forward, because the Silverlight viewer operates fine in Beta 2 - just check Vladimir's blog with image instructions: How To Use Telerik Reporting in Microsoft LightSwitch Beta 2
Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Hello guys,
We are happy to announce Telerik's LightSwitch offering, which we are releasing with the official LightSwitch launch today!
The Telerik offering targets professional Silverlight developers, who are familiar with Visual Studio and who plan to use LightSwitch extensively to create LoB apps, but need to extend the default LS screens with rich charts, gauges, grids, and editing capabilities.
Reporting is also in our plans - we are researching the implementation of a LightSwitch datasource which will allow you to connect to the LightSwitch datasource, and fill reports with the default data. This will happen on the server though, as client-side data binding will 1) take too much time to develop, and 2) will limit the end-user functionality, such as exporting to some of the formats.
Telerik's current LightSwitch offering does not require additional installation (other than RadControls for Silverlight) and is composed of several hands-on-labs (details and projects) on how to use our Silverlight controls in LightSwitch.
More labs can be added on demand, so feel free to share your feedback and requests!
Enjoy!
