Hi,

We are using radgrid of Q2 2008 release. Edit is enabled via template forms. The form contains several textboxes, comboboxes, one image and a checkboxlist. Four of the comboxes are cascading comboboxes for country, state, city, town fields.

The problem is that when these four comboboxes are placed seperately on a form, they work pretty fast. When they are placed inside the FormTemplate of the grid the performance is nearly 7-8 times slower.  This issue also applies to other controls such as grid, tabs.

Can you please help us in finding a solutions to this issue ?

Thanks,
Oner

Hello Maria,

After switching to Firefox the performance improved significantly. Memory leak in IE could be causing the performance issue. However, we could not find time to work on IE for the moment.

Hi oner,

Can you please migrate to the latest release Q2 2008 SP2 of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX? We addresses some memory leaks in the service pack of RadGrid and you should be able to see the difference:

Other useful tips about how to optimize the performance of our products you can find here:
