I tried to update VS to the latest version and encountered a looping error in the Telerik Xamarin extensions.

After killing VS, I was able to update but the UI would then hang as soon as I tried to right-click on the project tree view (if I waited long enough - 45-60 seconds - it would sometimes "come back to life" but would still be unworkable).

 

 

Disabling the extensions did not fix the issue. I had to repair VS and reboot.

Hi Stephane,

I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you have faced.

The issue described should not be caused by the upgrade of Visual Studio itself but could be related nonetheless. I have checked our records and there are no errors logged from your end and also the screenshot doesn't show much of the error, so it is hard to determine what could be the problem. The image, however, looks like previous reports we received which were linked to an issue updating the Telerik UI for Xamarin toolbox window. We have made some improvements in this regards with the latest release 2020.3.911, please install that through the Visual Studio Marketplace and if the issue persists please get back to us with more details of the exact scenario, so that we could try and debug it at our end.
