Hi.

Is there a reason that format is different for grid {0:c4} (link) and numeric 'c4' (link).

This brings some confusion, and lengthens learning time.

Depends on the answer: Does it make sense to add feature request to join this 2 formats, or support both in all components?

Hi Matjaž,

The format input property of the ColumnComponent of the grid is designed in such way, so that it can be used to format different value types as demonstrated in the following article:
https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/components/grid/api/ColumnComponent/#toc-format

Indeed, this functionality makes its use to be different than the format of a NumericTextBox, but it provides a broader range of functionalities for formatting the values of any grid's column.

Let me know in case further assistance is needed for this case.

Regards,
Svetlin
