Hi,
I have trouble to export currency value to excel.
in a Table Cell, I data bind a double value to a text box, and set format as {0:C2}
It works OK when it's displayed in report viewer, and it looks OK when it is exported to Excel, but if I check the "cell format" in excel, the format is defined as "Custom", the Type is: [$-1010409]$#,##0.00;($#,##0.00)
Our client wants this cell to be exported to the "Currency" type in excel.
Could you give me some hint on what I can try?

You are correct. Currently the exported excel documents have custom format for currency. This is by design in order to keep the currency type no matter the computer's regional settings. Still we agree that this could be confusing for some of the end users and we have decided to further research for a better approach.

Hello Chris,
The exported Excel file's text boxes still have a custom format even thought their format in the report definition is set to currency and there is no way to work around the behavior. Format strings are always hard-coded with "Custom Format". This way the formatting from the report definition is preserved and does not depend on the client machine locale.
This issue is now logged in our system for further investigation and improvement in a future version of the Reporting suite.
