Say I have a report that includes a crosstab, and that the cross tab has grouping rows so that I have something like this...

Group 1 - Subgroup 1 - Item
                                       - Item
                 Subgroup 2 - Item
                                       - Item

Is there a mechanism that I can use that will allow me to conditionally format data so that Subgroup X and Subgroup (X+1) are shown with different row colours?

I'm looking for a solution that I can use at any leve of grouping.

Hi Stuart Hemming,

Please review the Display Reports with alternating style rows help article that elaborates on the matter. The article targets report detail section but the same approach is applicable for textboxes that represent crosstab groups.

OK.

So that will colour the one textbox.

But, say, I wanted to colour all of the rows in the group the same colour so that, for instance, using my example below the 2 details rows in Subgroup1 took their background colour from the Subgroup1 textbox and the 2 items in Subgroup2 took their styling from that subgroup's text box?

I figured it out (kind of). The details are here.

If anybody has a better way of doing this, I'd love to hear it.

Hi!

In my case method described in help article affects only on rows in first column ('ProductType'), but rows in other column (wow!) doesn't take effect.
What the matter?

P.S. Sorry for my english)
