What’s New

CsvDataSource component

Q2 2014 introduces the CsvDataSource component. Now you can bind report items to a CSV data source and thanks to a dedicated CsvDataSource Wizard avoid any unnecessary coding.

New Pie and Column Map item series

We are introducing two new series types for the Map item - PieMap and ColumnMap series, allowing for a more comprehensive geographical data representation.

New Scale Legend on the Map item

In addition, the Map Item also provides a new and easily customizable Map Scale Legend that supports both metric and imperial units thus allowing for more intuitive map navigation.

DataPointLabelOffset

Option to control the label offset - DataPointLabelOffset property is adding offset to the labels in corresponding direction according the set DataPointLabelAlignment.

New DateTimeScale BaseUnit - Seconds

Allows presentation of the data in seconds using the date time scale.

TRDX Report Converter

In addition to the option to import reports in Standalone Report Designer created with the Visual Studio Report Designer now you can import reports in Visual Studio Report Report Designer created with the Standalone Report Designer. This option is introduced with TRDX Report Converter now available in Import Report Wizard.

What’s Improved

Improved Report Wizard and Item Templates

We have separated the Report Wizard in new and improved wizards. Now you can start the desired report wizard directly with dedicated Standalone Report Designer template or from the dedicated dialog in the Visual Studio Report Designer. Additionally for our advanced users we have added a Blank report template, so you can start designing your reports faster.

Improved Upgrade Wizard

The Upgrade Wizard guides you through the process of upgrading your Telerik Reporting projects to a newer (or older) version of Telerik Reporting. With the Q2 Release the Upgrade Wizard also handles HTML5 Report Viewer upgrades, replacing the HTML5 Viewer file bundles (HTML/CSS/JS).

The files used by the HTML5 report viewer have been renamed as follows:

where x.x.x.x is the corresponding version of the HTML5 ReportViewer/Telerik Reporting (e.g. 8.1.14.618).

The renaming of the files and references update is handled automatically by the UpgradeWizard. If you are manually upgrading make sure to update the file references in your HTML pages that contain the viewer.

 

HTML5 ReportViewer MVC Extension

MVC TelerikReporting().ReportViewer().ReportResolver(IReportResolver resolver) is now obsolete

MVC TelerikReporting().ReportViewer().ReportSource(ReportSource reportSource) is now obsolete

**Instead of the methods that are now obsolete the TelerikReporting().ReportViewer().ReportSource method has now four overloads:

• ReportSource(UriReportSource uriReportSource)
• ReportSource(TypeReportSource typeReportSource)
• ReportSource(string report)
• ReportSource(string report, IDictionary<string, object> parameters)
