Inputs Overview

The Inputs are fields which allow for an input of data, based on a specific and predefined format.

Basic Usage

The following example demonstrates the ColorPicker, MaskedTextBox, NumericTextBox, Slider, and Switch components in action.

class InputsContainer extends React.Component {
    constructor(props) {
            super(props);
            this.mask = props.mask;
            this.min = props.min;
            this.max = props.max;
    }

    render() {
        return (
            <div className="example-wrapper">
                <div className="col-xs-12 col-sm-6 example-col">
                   <p>MaskedTextBox</p>
                   <MaskedTextBox mask={this.mask} />
                </div>
                <div className="col-xs-12 col-sm-6 example-col">
                   <p>NumericTextBox</p>
                   <NumericTextBox />
                </div>
                <div className="col-xs-12 col-sm-6 example-col">
                   <p>Slider</p>
                   <Slider min={this.min} max={this.max} />
                </div>
                <div className="col-xs-12 col-sm-6 example-col">
                    <p>Switch</p>
                    <Switch />
                </div>
                <div className="col-xs-12 col-sm-6 example-col">
                    <p>ColorPicker</p>
                    <ColorPicker />
                </div>
            </div>
        );
    }
}
ReactDOM.render(
    <InputsContainer mask={'(999) 000-0000'} min={ 10 } max={ 50 }/>,
    document.querySelector('my-app')
);

Installation

All components that you reference during the installation will be present in the final bundle of your application. To avoid ending up with components you do not actually need, import only the used component from the package.

  1. Download and install the package.

    npm install --save @progress/kendo-inputs-react-wrapper
  2. Once installed, import the desired component from the package.

    import { MaskedTextBox } from '@progress/kendo-inputs-react-wrapper';

    The package also exports the following individual components:

    • ColorPicker
    • MaskedTextBox
    • NumericTextBox
    • Slider
    • Switch
  3. You are required to install one of the Kendo UI themes to style your components.

Dependencies

The Inputs package requires you to install the following peer dependencies in your application:

  • @progress/kendo-ui
