Updated on Nov 4, 2026

The KendoReact DatAInsights Composer turns a natural-language prompt and the metadata of your datasets into an interactive Grid, Chart, or Gauge visualization. The component sends the prompt and the dataset metadata to the AI, never the data rows, and renders the result locally.

React DatAInsights Composer Key Features

User Interface

The user describes the desired Grid, Chart, or Gauge in plain language. You can configure the texts and the length of the prompt, the display of the datasets, and the disabled state of the component. Read more about the user interface of the DatAInsights Composer.

Editing and History

The user can refine the result with follow-up prompts, confirm or discard the changes, and return to an earlier version through the History. You can persist the saved visualizations and restore them later. Read more about editing and History in the DatAInsights Composer.

Data Binding

The DatAInsights Composer works with one or more datasets. The AI picks the dataset that matches the prompt, based on the metadata of the datasets, and the app can load the data on demand. Read more about data binding in the DatAInsights Composer.

Visualization Components

The component generates a Grid, a Chart, or a Gauge, and filters, sorts, limits, and aggregates the data as the prompt requires. You can fix specific settings of the generated visualizations, or process the data in your app. Read more about the visualization components of the DatAInsights Composer.

States and Messages

The component exposes states and messages for generation, refinement, clarification, and failures. It validates configurations before rendering them.

Controlled Mode

You can control the prompt, the visualizations, and the History of the component from your code. Connect your backend through the default AI client and a transport, implement a custom client, or run the requests yourself in controlled mode.

Events

The component raises events for the prompt, the generation, the data processing, the History, and the confirmation and removal actions. Read more about the events of the DatAInsights Composer.

Globalization

You can translate the messages of the component and apply culture-specific formats to the dates and numbers. Read more about the globalization of the DatAInsights Composer.

Security

Secure AI endpoints and credentials, restrict access to datasets, and validate untrusted input according to the component and application security responsibilities.

Accessibility

Users can operate the component with the keyboard and with assistive technologies. Read more about the accessibility of the DatAInsights Composer.
