Kendo UI for Angular Roadmap

Short-Term Goals (January 2021—May 2021)

Over the next couple of months, the Kendo UI for Angular team will be focused on addressing highly-requested features for our existing UI components in order to to make our existing offering as robust and fully-features as possible. As with every release we will be able to add in some brand new Angular UI components as well.

New UI components will include:

  • The BottomNavigation Component
  • The Skeleton Component

As for existing components the Kendo UI for Angular team will add features across many of our UI components including these bigger highlights:

  • Grid - Locking Columns to the Left or Right, Displaying a Pager at the Top, Bottom, or Both, and more
  • DropDowns - Remote Virtualization, Focusing Items Programmatically, Binding to Child Objects, and more
  • TreeView - Adding a directive for checking and un-checking children

With this release cycle we have also reserved time to go through an extensive bug fixing effort in order to address more bugs and issues than an average release in order to improve the robustness of Kendo UI for Angular as a whole.

Our Long-Term Vision

Beyond these short-term goals of new UI components and enhancing existing ones, looking forward we will continue to build up the list of available components. This includes not only working towards component and feature parity with the other libraries found in the Kendo UI bundle, but also creating unique UI components for the Angular community.

We believe that all applications, whether they are used by internal or external users, should follow modern design best practices. We know that it is a luxury to write complex UI components from scratch.
