Has there been any consideration for creating a WPF &\or Silverlight version of the infamous PropertyGrid?  I think this would be a very useful control to have in your arsenal.

Hello Lee,

Thank you for your feedback. The PropertyGrid, both for Silverlight and WPF, is in our To-Do list. Unfortunately it will not make it for Q3 2009, since we are done with our planning and a lot of other controls and features are on the plate. Thanks to your input, we raised the priority of the PropertyGrid and it will be included in our plans for some of our next official releases - most probably Q1 2010.

Thanks again for your involvement.

Best wishes,
Hristo

You can add my vote to this one as well, the one I'm using at the moment is inadequate.

Hello Lee,

The Property Grid for WPF and Silverlight is definitely in our plans. Still there are other tasks with higher priority and it will be included in a release after Q1 2010.

Sincerely yours,

I own the Telerik Rad Controls for WPF. Because there is no property grid, I am currently evaluating WPF Property Grids from other vendors. I would like to pick one that would best fit into your planned architecture for this control. Can you recommend one of the current vendors that I can use in the mean time, so that i can minimize any refactoring that will be necessary when i switch to the Telerik WPF property Grid when it is released? Or, can you at least tell me: will it follow the WinForms Property Grid programming model, or will it be an entirely new creation?

Also, could you give an approx estimate of when we might see the WPF property Grid from Telerik?

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris Boarman,

We cannot make any recommendation for using one or another property grid. As I said in my previous response - the property grid is in our development plans but there are tasks with higher priority. That is why we cannot commit to any date or release the availability of the property grid.

Greetings,

As I said in PITS, we are still awaiting some sort of status on this control.  It would be nice to know if this was any where close in the queue.

So I am guessing that since this control is still in the Not Planned category that it is not making the Q1 2011 release?

Hi lkeel,

After our discussions let us to the decision that on first place we will deliver RadDataForm for Q1 2011. Once it is ready the Property grid will derive from it. Most probably the property grid will be shipped with our Q2 2011 release.

Hi Guys

I am trying my best to create a property grid during runtime.
Is there perhaps a sample application that show exactly how to create a property grid containing fields of all different types?

The text box and string is easy so far... or should I rather say that the password box and the date time field is giving me lots of problems.
Also the grouping is still  a mystery.

Hopefull , Regards

Hi Jeremi,

Here is a help article about customizing PropertyGridFields. For additional support materials you can refer to our online demos. As for RadPropertyGrid's grouping mechanism, it groups PropertyDefinitions based on their GroupName property. Please, refer to the mentioned articles and let us know whether any of your inquires have been left unaddressed in our documentation.
