Hi All,
Will the latest WPF controls work in the VS 2010 Beta 2 that just came out? I just downloaded the beta, and have not tried installing the Telrik controls with it yet... Would love to be able to develop in beta 2 with Telerik..
Thanks
harold

Hello hchattaway,
We are not planning to release a special suite build against .Net 4 for Q3 we will consider it for Q3 SP1. We made some fast test about the behavior of our controls in VS 2010. Here is what I found:
Controls are working as expected in both Silverlight and WPF except for where .Net Ria Services is used. You can read here that Ria services are still not available for VS2010/ .NET 4. Because of that you can't compile the examples that goes with our installation as we are using .Net Ria. You can not start the exe for our example demos also. You can view them online on our site though.
WPF controls are automatically added to VS2010 toolbox but you can not add Silverlight ones.
So in fact you can use our controls in VS 2010 but it is not advisable and you may face some difficulties.

When are you expecting full usability (RIA aside) in 2010?

Any idea when you are looking at SP1? In 2009 at all?
As with many other developers, we have a choice - the dramatic productivity gains to be had with the VS2010 beta (and the gains ARE dramatic) or the productivity gains from the Telerik controls.
As the native controls for Silverlight get better and better it is possible to handle the common scnearios with only what MS ships - and not have to make this choice. Obviously there are no native controls that hold a candle to your reporting and so on, but the basics of admin side development can be done with pure MS these days.
It would be better to not have to make the choice at all :)

We expect to be able to ship SP1 in early December and fix most of the outstanding issues with VS 2010
