I am just wondering why telerik created another reporting solution. What's the initiative? What's the compelling reason to create another one while there are a number of reporting solutions on the market, such as SSRS, Active Report, Crystal Report, you name it? What are the unique features provided by telerik? Why should I choose telerik instead of others which have already been in the market for over years?
I am sorry if I am posting to wrong forum, but I just did not find enough information from the reporting product page. Thanks!

I know what you mean, and I must say that having been a Crystal user for over six years I have had enough of the takeovers and gradual degression of the quality of the product.
I am not sure what the alternative is yet, I am not sure if anybody really knows, but I know that Telerik (even though I haven't purchased yet) have been really helpful and approachable. They admit they are still workng on the features of reporting but I feel that that makes the purchase even more worthwhile as I know that us, as users, can help create the final product that we all want.
Saying that if you do find the 'ultimate' report writer let me know.

Well, Steve, our clients have been so fond of our ASP.NET tools and technical support, that they requested from us to look into the reporting market. The reasons for their requests varied, and I will not go over them, however one stood out - they wanted to use a single vendor for (most of) their needs. After an extensive research we found that there is not an "universal" and easy-to-use solution, so we decided to fill the gap.
As you see, we do not have many features, rather an intuitive tool which gets the job done in an easy and friendly manner. We have plans to offer new features with each new release, so keeping an eye on the Reporting Roadmap is a good idea.
