I will put Vietnamese and Chinese in the same text box
I set the font to Arial Unicode MS
But the result is that the Chinese text becomes a box
I’ve tested many fonts but can’t get the answer.
My preview on the designer is normal, and the PDF output on the designer is also normal.
But on my webpage, the pdf output is abnormal.
I don’t know if there is a solution

Hello Lin,

If I understand correctly, the issue occurs only when the report is exported to PDF from the web page, I assume through an HTML5-based Report Viewer, is that correct?

Are the web application and the report designer on the same machine? I suspect that they are not and that the Arial Unicode MS font is not installed on the machine where the web application is hosted or the font is not available for the given IIS user.

Please make sure that the font is installed on the server with the web application and that it is available to all IIS users - remote desktop - Install fonts on Windows 2019 Terminal Server for all users - Super User.

There is also the option to provide the font from a custom directory through Configuring the privateFonts Element - Telerik Reporting.

For more information on how to resolve such issues, you may have a look at the Characters are not rendered correctly in PDF files - Telerik Reporting KB article.

In case you need further assistance, please attach a trace listener to the project to check in the produced trace log whether the font is being replaced due to it not being available on the server - How to: Create and Initialize Trace Listeners - .NET Framework | Microsoft Learn.

I hope that the provided information will help resolve the issue.

Regards,
Dimitar
