Validationbehavior while cancel editing a cell

Hello,

I’ve found a strange behavior of the validation while cancel editing a cell. When I edit a cell and enter an invalid value it shows me, that there is an input error. Very nice and cool! But when I cancel the editing with the escape key, the cell resets the content to the previous value. If the previous value was invalid too, there is no error message.

Is there something I can do to fix the problem?

Hi Sternico,

 The behavior that you have described is the expected one by design. Right now we cannot not recommend any workaround to change this behavior. 

  We are going to take into account your issues and have a discussion about possible future improvements.

Hi all,

is there any solution for that? I have the same problem. If the cell is not valid and the user presses the escape key I still want to show the red border around the cell. Any suggestions?

Hello Conny,

I have attached a demo project showing invalid cells (when StadiumCapacity's value is less then 50000) and ts rows. If you change the value and then cancel it through the ESC key, then the old invalid value is still shown in red borders.
Would you please check how this approach works for you?
